"HAMPTON WICK, a hamlet in the parish of Hampton, county Middlesex, 2 miles E. of Hampton Court. It is situated at the bridge opposite Kingston-on-Thames. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of London, value £150. Steele had a home here called the "Hovel.""
