"HESTON, a parish and suburban village in the hundred of Isleworth, county Middlesex, 1½ mile N. of Hounslow, its post town and railway station. The parish, which is of considerable extent, contains the hamlets of Cranford, Lampton, Sutton, Scrattage, North Hyde, and part of the town of Hounslow." (There is more of this description).
"LAMPTON, a village in the parish of Heston, county Middlesex, 2 miles W. of Brentford. It is situated near Lampton Hills."
"NORTH HYDE, a hamlet in the parish of Heston, county Middlesex, 1 mile from Norwood, and 3 miles N.W. of Brentford.
"SCRATTAGE, a village in the parish of Heston, county Middlesex, 2 miles W. of Brentford. [Scrattage is not found on 2003 maps, it is now Osterley. On a map based on inclosure award maps, to show the area pre-1818, Scrattage was was just South of Osterley Park, now where Herm Close and Cranmore Avenue join Jersey Road.]
"SUTTON, (or The Deans), a village in the parish of Heston, hundred of Isleworth, county Middlesex, 3 miles W. of Brentford. It forms a prebend in St. Paul's Cathedral. Sutton Court was once the residence of Mary Countess Falconberg, Cromwell's third daughter. In the vicinity is the house once occupied by Dr. Busby, and where in 1672 Ralph, the political writer, died.
