An 1868 Gazetteer description of the following places in


CATERHAM

"CATERHAM, a parish in the second division of the hundred of Tandridge, in the county of Surrey, 7 miles to the S. of Croydon, its post town. It is situated in a pleasant country, and is connected with the South-Eastern railway by a branch line of 4 miles from Caterham Junction.

The living is a rectory in the diocese of Winchester, value £255, in the patronage of the Rev. J. Legrew. The church is dedicated to St. Lawrence."
