GODSTONE

"GODSTONE, a parish and post town in the first division of the hundred of Tandridge, county Surrey, 7 miles E. of Reigate, and 10 S. of Croydon. It is situated on a tributary of the river Medway, and on the road from Croydon to East Grinstead. The parish includes the hamlets of Blindley Heath and Felbridge, with several other small places." "BLINDLEY HEATH, a chapelry in the parish of Godstone, hundred of Tandridge, in the county of Surrey, not far from Godstone. East Grinstead is its post town.
The living is a perpetual curacy* in the diocese of Winchester, of the value, with that of St. John the Evangelist, Godstone, of £100, in the patronage of the Vicar of Godstone."
"FELBRIDGE, a parochial chapelry in the parish of Godstone, first division of the hundred of Tandridge, county Surrey, 2 miles N.W. of East Grinstead, its post town, and 8 S. of Godstone. Felbridge Water separates it from the county of Sussex.
The living is a donative curacy in the diocese of Winchester, value £30. Felbridge Park is the seat of the Earl of Liverpool."
