An 1868 Gazetteer description of the following places in


LITTLE BOOKHAM

"LITTLE BOOKHAM, a parish in the hundred of Effingham, in the county of Surrey, close to Great Beckham. Leatherhead is its post town.

The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Winchester, of the value of £156, in the patronage of the Pollens. The church contains a monumental brass of the year 1590. The charitable endowments, consisting of a bequest by Sir B. Maddox for the benefit of the parish clergyman and the poor, and other purposes, amount to £65 a year. There are almshouses for three persons.
