"LONG DITTON, a parish in the hundred of Kingston, in county of Surrey, 2 miles S.W. of Kingston-upon-Thames, its post town. It includes the hamlet of Talworth. The South-Western railway passes near the village, and the Lambeth water-works are situated partly in this parish.The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Winchester, value £474, in the patronage of New College, Oxford. The church is a modern brick structure, dedicated to St. Mary. The Earl of Lovelace is lord of the manor.
