Wotton

"WOTTON, a parish in the hundred of the same name, county Surrey, 3 miles S.W. of Dorking. It is situated on the border of Sussex, and is about 9 miles in extent from N. to S., but seldom exceeds a mile in breadth, tapering towards the S. It comprises the divisions of Low Hill and Up Hill, and until recently the chapelry of Oakwood, which last has been formed with part of the parish of Abinger into a separate ecclesiastical district, having its own church, and schools."
