[R]andom [A]rtists
Random Artists make space for art to happen. They expand notions of what art is, from a lifestyle choice to an aural sound-scape. For I.D.E.A.London Random Artists will be intervening in the liminal spaces at the ICA - installing archival documentation of Temporary Autonomous Art shows 1 – 8 and a show-reel of works from these exhibitions as well as other unexpected surprises.

Random Artists have been putting on Temporary Autonomous Art (TAA) shows for over 5 years. Living and working in vacant buildings; clearing them up and facilitating a three-day open submission art events for anyone who wants to get involved. Recently the role of Random Artists have begun initiating international and national networks of TAA shows, educating others with the skills and legal know-how of how to get in and out of buildings without ending up in police custody. Works that get made for TAA shows are temporally incidental, sometimes ephemeral and by necessity expendable. You can’t take it all with you, especially if somebody’s dog pisses on it. All Random Artists events are social gatherings, where music, community, art and life all roll into one.

They are living proof that the 'revolution' won’t only be on the web …
